Yay! I'm proud of this! Fortunatly for you folks my very talented friend was kind enough to write a short story for this, for which I am very grateful! I'm going to share said story here. Enjoy!!


Waiting was the hard part. Fighting enemies, running for her life, anything was better than standing around, twiddling her thumbs, waiting. Even this would have been more bearable if she wasnt currently wading thigh-high through a mucky, cold river.
"Stupid hounds," she muttered soundlessly, because everything had been going according to plan until the enemy had sent out the scent hounds, forcing her not only into this mucky river, but to seperate from Naruto.
"Everything for the mission," she muttered again, but the river wasn't what ate at her brain as she waited.
Naruto was late.
Biting her lip, thumbs still going, she decided to give him a few more minutes before she broke protocol and went to search for him.
The time passed impaitently for her, and she was just about to quit waiting once and for all, but she heard the water riple before she had a chance to move.
Melding back into the shadows, Sakura formed an attack plan and escape route as her hand inched for her weapon pouch. Before she could get a hold of a kunai a familiar voice called softly to her.
"Sakura?"
Letting out a shaky lung-full of air-she had forgotten to breathe while she formulated-and stepped angrily from the shadows.
"You're late!" she hissed at Naruto, abandoning all caution by storming towards him. "You frustrating, moronic..." she cut off as she stabbed him in the chest with an accusing finger. "What happened?"
Ignoring her scowl, Naruto wrapped his arms around Sakura, drawing her closer.
"I was making sure the dogs couldn't find us, " he told her leaning down to whisper "I'm okay," into her mouth, letting his lips brush hers.
Sakura's eyes fluttered closed and, ignoring the smell of the muck they still stood almost waist deep in, she breathed in his scent before leaning into the kiss.
After a moment, Naruto pulled away, leaving her breathless, and smirked at her. "Now what were you saying?" he asked, blue eyes crinkling in amusement.
"What?" she mumbled, eyes heavy as she leaned against his chest dizzily
"You're mad at me," he reminded her, grin widening crookedly.
She leaned back to look up, blinked once, and wrinkled her nose at him. "You're a rotten cheater, I hope you know."
His face lit up to it's fullest extent, and he nodded enthusiasticly in agreement.
With a growl, Sakura pulled his face back down, telling him "I'll finish being angry later."
